Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Salah is fard, and any missed salah will have to be accounted for on the Day of Judgement, therefore it is up to us to keep a clear account of your missed salah. There is no other way out. The best way to keep record of missed salah, is to state the approximate number of years missed. For example, if you are 26, and you have missed 10 years, then you will pray qada' salah for 10 years. You may either pray a salah extra with every salah you read, for example with Fajar salah, to pray the Fajar salah all, and then to add an extra 2 raka's of Fajar, the same for Zuhar, and 'Asar etc, which will take you 10 years to complete, a 10 year missed (qadha') salah. However, you may want to pray your qadah salah more quickly, and you can do this by recording the number of missed salah prayed, on a piece of paper, with the dates, days, month and year, and as long as you have got a record of this, then you can pray and record any time you like, how often you like, and as quickly as you like, as opposed to the former method. This way, it will be quicker and easier, you will have a record, and you will also be engaged in worship for most of the time. The next thing to do, is to make tawbah and istighfar, to Allah the Almighty, that you will not miss any more salah, otherwise you will have to face the consequences. The consequences are very bad, such as the 'wayl', which is the worst place in hell for those people who used to miss there salah, and 80,000 years in such a place, for missing 1 salah, is simply not worth it, and if youve missed more than 1, like 10 years, then it is something you should be worried about, and take immediate action for. Try to learn the dua-e-Qunut as it will benefit you in praying your witr, especially when you will be reciting it in your qadha salah, and also in future, when you pray your witr salah. It is good to learn and to memorise, as it helps to keep the mind stable, and it is good to read in witr. There are other alternatives, but you should use your capability, which Allah the Almighty has granted you. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
