hi
i want to know that some foods r s for veggies
but have white spirit vinegar
and another i think it is called white Wine vinegar
is it halal ? there are mostley found in coleslaws
or are these real alcohols
thanx for any feedback

Wine(red or white) and balsamic vinegars should be avoided.
Spirit,distilled,cider and malt vinegars are halal.

Wine(red or white) and balsamic vinegars should be avoided. Spirit,distilled,cider and malt vinegars are halal. the key to the answer is the word "vinegar" vinegar is not "alcohol" , but is the last stage of the process of fermentation hence vinegar being amongst the chemical group ketones not alcohol. Vinegar is halal to use whether the vinegar is made from malt or grapes
