THE MYSTICAL IEADOLOGIES OF THE CHISTIYA SILSILA
1.Unselfishness service to mankind. Hazrat Khwaja Nizammuddeen Aulia (radi allahu anhu) says "Devotion to Allah is of two kinds :
a) OBLIGATORY
b) SUPEREROGATORY
In the Obligatory devotion which includes Salaah, performing Haj,fasting etc. the benefit and reward is confined to the Devotee. In the Supererogatory devotion which is performed by giving comfort to others, showing love and affection to people helping fellow human beings and bringing peace to a human heart. The reward is incalculable!
Once Khwaja Nizamuddeen Aulia (radi Allahu anhu) in a spiritual trance said " NO WORK WOULD BE MORE HIGHLY REWARDED ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT THAN BRINGING HAPPINESS TO A HUMAN HEART."
"In the vision of Allah no prayer,no spiritual exercises have greater significance than removing the misery of fellow human beings, bringing consolation to the distressed and helping the down trodden."Once Hazrat Khwaja Muinuddeen Chisti Ajmeri (radi Allahu anhu) was asked to explain the highest form of devotion which was loved by Allah." He said develope river like generosity, sun like bounty, earth like hospitality."
2.To live for Allah alone.
Khwaja Nizamuddeen Auliya (radi Allahu anhu) again says : that if one lives for Allah alone love and peace would prevail in this world. When one is inspired by this, then whatever one does becomes devotion to Allah.
3.To have complete trust in Allah.
This helps a person to be content with whatever condition he maybe in.
4.Large hearted forgiveness.
Here the Khwaja-gaan saw the secret of social well-being.
THIS MAYBE SUMMARISED AS FOLLOWS :
Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddeen Aulia (radi Allahu anhu) says that a Salik (traveller on the path of Sufism) achieves success by the following practices ,viz :
a) less eating
b) less sleeping
c) less speaking
d) less meeting of people
e) One should advocate mercy and piety in all dealings
f) Never to curse anyone .
g) One must always refrain from disclosing the faults of the people which is
a great virtue and best devotion to Allah .
h) One must never hurt a human heart because this hurts the grace of Allah .
THE LAST SERMON OF KHWAJA MUINUDDIN CHISTI (radi Allahu anhu)
( KHWAJA GHARIEB NAWAAZ )
The philosophy of sufism is best summed up in the words of the final khutbah (sermon) of Khwaja Muinuddin Chisti ( radi Allahu anhu ) which he delivered to his followers just one month before his demise.
THE GREAT SAINT OF AJMER SAID : -
"Love all and hate none
More talk of peace will avail you naught
Mere talk of God and religion will not take you far
Bring out all of the latent powers of your being
and reveal the full magnificance of your mortal self
Be surcharged with peace and joy.And scatter them wherever you are
and wherever you go.Be a blazing fire of truth.
Be a beauteous blossom of Love. And be a soothing balm of peace
With your spiritual light dispel the darkness of ignorance
dissolve the clouds of discord and war
and spread goodwill, peace and harmony among the people
Never seek any help, charity or favours from anybody except God
Never go to the courts of kings, but never refuse to bless and help the
needy and the poor, the widow, and the orphan, if theycome to youy door
This is your mission, to serve the people
Carry it out dutifully and courageously
so that I, as your PIR-O-MURSHID
may not be ashamed of any shortcomings on your part
before the Almighty Allah and our Holy Predecessors
in the Sufi Order ( Silsila ) on the day of Judgement "
