Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Misuse and wrong application of a little piece of knowledge by an ignorant can lead to severe insults towards the Blessed Personalities of Islam.
In a personal conflict if someone says to the other person (whom he knows is a Sunni by Aqeedah Ahl Sunnat wal Jama'at) that he's a "mureed of shaiytaan", then the name caller, apart from being guilty of hurting that person is also guilty of having insulted Sayyidinah Shaykh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilaani Qaddas Allahu Sirruhul Aziz who takes the responsibility of being the Murshid of the person who has the intention of taking bai'at with a Murshid but is not yet mureed.
There's neither justification nor forgiveness for that even from Sayyidinah Ghawth e Paak Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu till the insulter does not ask sincere forgiveness from the one whom he insulted by calling him "mureed of shaytaan". It is similar to as long as we don't ask forgiveness from a person whom we offended, Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala will not forgive us.
Peculiar to human nature, we may try to justify by saying that we were not aware and if so and so had not said what he said we would not have said that etc. All this is useless, as soon as we become aware of the gross mistake we have committed the first action is to ask frogiveness from the person we have offended in our ignorance and then ask forgiveness from Sayyidinah Shaykh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilaani Qaddas Allahu Sirruhul Aziz and Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala.
There are many things that we hear in speeches or learn from Aalim e Deen, the references to which we do not find in any books. Depending on our capacity to grasp, understand and the degree of our faith we either accept or consider as baseless (simply due to lack of written reference). Everyone is responsible for what he takes and what he rejects.
