Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhuis chicken skin permissable to eat or is it makrooh? just wondering as i'm sure i heard or read once that it is makrooh but can't remember where. for example the chicken wings you get from a takeaway as i don't think anything that we cook at home ever has skin on it. Jazakallah for your views i'm looking forward to reading them. (now that i've written that i bet no one answers )

Feathers are part of a chicken yet we can't eat them? So I think the question is still valid, if someone knows the answer please do reply.

Bismillahir Rahmanir RaheemAssalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuI'm not sure about being it makrooh or not but health wise it's not too good as it is nothing but fat ;D Now a days most of the people opt for chicken without skin.... Fi Amanillah

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhuwell...well question is really going on toss. Till date i haven't heard of such question nor people around me had such doubt in they hearts. Haaan one thing is for sure i.e there are many families who prefer to get the dressed chicken(with skin removed) but not for the reason as according to the above doubt but for the reason as sometimes taste gets spoiled(specially for children(ammi yeh chikna hain...cheee) and for children parents prefer without skin chicken. Its not makrooh to have chicken skin....as far as i have heard, and more important i know few people who love to eat chicken with skin(when they order they specially mention it). Sister Farheen even if you have a look at haleem stalls(either for chicken or mutton) that to in known or unknown outlets there is huge quantity of skin included b4 preparing it into tasty haleem or harees. As well as we all can have a look into our kind of shahi dawats u'll find many chicken skin pieces....now plate is always user defined...so its his/her wish which piece to choose . Jazakallah.

I am sorry, but I dont know the answer, I know that chicken skin is nothing but fat, so its bad for you (even though its tasty) but not sure if its Makrooh, its a good question to ask
