Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
You're young and each day you grow towards that level of maturity. Being a mature person means having much responsibility.
Which responsibilities do you have now and how do you fulfill them? For example:
- Do you need to take care of your little brothers and sisters? - Is it your task to make sure there are enough vegetables and milk in the fridge? - Is it your responsibility to take care of the money?
Wassalamu 'alaykum

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhui can't say for everyone but in my family none of my kid's have responsibility until maybe 15 or 16. i think children til 15 should have no responsibilitie's because that is the golden age,for when you do become 16 responsibility will come thick and fast and you will remember your childhood.all free and innocent with NO responsibility. That's only my opnion..... as for ironing that i would say is a women's job ,but don't get me wrong if need be then be so......... mashallah madnimunnah you listen to your brother's sabaq well done.good on you.

as for ironing that i would say is a women's job ,but don't get me wrong if need be then be so......... Any reference that ironing is a woman's job? It is actually sunnah for the men to help around the house. The Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam, used to sew his own clothes, mend his own shoes and do whatever other workmen do in their homes. (Bukhari) Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

The Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam, used to sew his own clothes, mend his own shoes and do whatever other workmen do in their homes. (Bukhari) Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Sister Nomee It is an act of great thawaab and much significance for a woman to tend to the affairs of her home. Rasulullah Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam exhorted women to do their housework themselves. Once Hadhrat Fatimah Radi Allahu anha requested Rasulullah Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam for a servant to assist her in the housework. Hadhrat Fatimah Radi Allahu anha did all her housework herself. In answer to her request, Rasulullah (Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam) said:
"O Fatimah! Fear Allah. Fulfil the compulsory duties (Fardh) of your Rabb and do the work of your house-folk." (Bukhaari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmithi)
Which woman can consider herself to be superior than Hadhrat Fatimah Radi Allahu anha? But, the Queen of womankind, the Leader of the women of Jannat, Hadhrat Fatimah Radi Allahu anha did all her housework herself. This hadith clearly establishes the significance of women doing their own housework. wheras men go out to earn their crust which is ibaadat as well. although where there is a NEED do the housework as well to help.

SubhnanAllah great hadiths shared brother asif, nice to know research work has been done! Al hamdulilla I have great pleasure in following this hadith out I get the men to help with certain tasks in the house because doing them cause discomfort to me due to my whiplash otherwise I prefer doing my housework as its done promptly ;D So the bottom line is it is sunnah for Men and women to do the housework.
