Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I Pray that you are all well and in the best stae of Imaan, Ameen!
The King of Saints, Hazrat Ghaus e Azam Radi Allahu anhu, on giving advice to his disciples and lovers says, ''Alhamdulillah I spent twenty five years of my life in the jungles of Iraq. For forty years I made wuzu for Isha and read Fajr with the same wuzu. Every single day for fifteen years I would finish the whole Quraan Shareef in nafl after Isha. At the beginning, I would fasten a rope around my waist and the other end to a hook in the wall so that if I did fall asleep, I would wake up due to the pull.''
(Bahja tul Israr wa madanul anwaar, P118)
''One night while I was worshipping, my nafs gave me some advice that I was tired so I should go to sleep for a while and then pray. To punish my nafs, I stood on one leg and finished the whole Quraan Shareef.''
(Bahja tul Qadiriya)
Hazrat Ghaus e Azam Radi Allahu anhu spent 25 years of their blessed life in the jungles of Iraq in order to gain the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. If only we could take some time out of our busy lives and dedicate it to reading the Quraan Shareef or reciting Darood Shareef, or any Nafli Ibaadat, etc!
Fi Aminillah
Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
