Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuSandal Mubarak is a special procession (juloos) which takes place at the URS Mubarak of a Wali Allah. It usually takes places after Salatul Isha. Sandal means “fragrance, scent khushboo,” Also during the Sandal juloos there is also a Chardar Mubarak procession. This is all usually led by the Sajjada Nasheen/Gaddi Nasheen of the Dargah or Janasheen of the Wali Allah.
Many peoples might think that Sandal is an innovation but that’s not true. The sandal Mubarak and Chadar Mubarak procession is the practise of the angels.
When a Wali Allah’s is about to leave this world then thousands of Angels come from Jannat. They come with a Chardar (kafan) with beautiful Khushboo and also bring sweet flowers. They all sit in front of the Wali Allah. Then Angel Of Death Hazrat Izraeel comes and says to the Blessed Wali “O Beloved one of Allah Azwajul, return to your Lord, in forgiveness and in the pleasure of Allah Azawajul.’ This is the good news that is given That you are in the condition, that everything has been forgiven and Allah Azawajul is pleased with you.”
The wali is then given flowers from Jannat and as he smells them Hazrat Izaraeel takes the soul. It is said that his soul is taken like when you drop a bottle of attar the khusboo emits out of it same with the Wali’s soul coming out. As soon as the Wali’s soul comes out even Hazrat Izraeel does not get to see the soul. All the angels crowd over trying to touch the blessed soul and then at last they rap the soul of the Wali Allah in the chardar (kafan) which they bring from Jannat. Here are some pics of Sandal Mubarak Procession, Chardar Mubarak Procession and also flowers being presented:

Subhanallah what a beautiful post, I have learnt something new.
Us living in Europe miss such events and it seems such a lovely gesture to offer flowers and chaddars at mazaars.
JazakAllah for sharing.

There are probabaly numerous benifits of placing chadars on the Mazar shareef that maybe inshallah Syed Rehan Bhai will answer for us. One reason why the chadar is placed on the Mazar shareef is to respect, so lay muslims like us dont disrespect the Mazar Shareef. I also got one brother to put some Chadar on some Wali Allah's blessed mazar.

Subhanallah, a great post shared brother, I loved the part where the Angels try to touch the soul of the wali whom has passed away, and this is what we try to do also when we visit places where pious people are buried or even just pious people whom are still with us

SubhanAllah grt post brother,
The reason for offering chadars and flowers at the mazar sahrif is that we show a sign of respect to the great Auliya Allah, u also do this if u have any mannat (any desire) to be fullfiled so u aske the Auliya Allah to pray for them and if ur desired work is doen then u offer the chadar.
The main reason to do so which i know is that we all celebrate the urs sharif of the Auliya Allah as on that they the blessed personality has left his soul and meet his beloved for whose love he has spend whole life, so in the path of love it is as if the groom and brides get ready with all the lovely things and wears bueatifull cloths and get dressed with the flower and wait for each other so that they can meet, in the same way on the urs we the ghulam of the Auliya Allah do these things as that day was the day of the meeting of the Auliya with his beloved.
