Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam
More and more women are performing hajj without mehrams Some Hajj tour operators are wrongly filling in applications and claiming to be mehrams etc. Naturally the tour operators are making money, but surely these women are doing wrong?
As a brother would you take a distant relative or family friend with you to perform Hajj and act as her mehram?
As a sister do you support women performing Hajj with a mehram as she may have no one else to perform Hajj with??
Please do share your opinions.
Jazak Allah

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAllama sahib on the noor tv said that there are different rulings for this.. that in one or two madhab women are allowed to go in a group with other women so without male as long as they are sure that its safe.. one madhab only gives pemission for farz hajj and the other also for nafli hajj etc.. Allah Ta'ala and His Rasool Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam knows the best..
Its not allowed in hanafi madhab.. (as far as I know) so no I wont support them on this..

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuIslamic fiqh/rules/regulations should be followed. I think our religion/deen is simple and easy and for every situation/problem there is some solution given. So that's my opinion dear sis Fi Amanillah

plus can a woman go with her son-in-law? I have heard it all depends how the son in law is related to her. If he is a nephew then that is allowed maybe someone else can eloborate. Hajj can be performed with anyone whom the nikaah is not valid with, maternal /paternal aunts and uncles, neices and nephews, sons, daughters ... Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuLabaik Allah Hummah Labaik, Labbaik La Shareeka Laka Labaik, Innal Hamda Wal Ni’amata Laka Wal Mulk, La Shareeka Lak!!!Interesting replies! Well, as for the tour operators, I really am but then again, if its in a persons (the womans) Kismat to go, she will go no matter what because she has recieved a calling. Personally I will not, it makes the journey far too difficult without a Mehram. How many of you will travel without a Mehram? (Allah Ta'lah forbid if he isn't willing to take you?) (and by this I mean, you haven't done your first Hajj or Umrah) Jazakallah Khairan Fi Aminillah Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

I will not go without my mehram. and i dont like this for any other female. I have heard, if a female dont have a mehram, then hajj is not farz upon her. (allaha azwajal knows best).
and if a woman has to face that, then he should take proper permission from a true scholar.

A woman cannot do Hajj without mahram. The guide operators are wrong in doing this, making the hajj of those women not valid. Like it has been said above, its not farz unless you have mahram.
We all want to go there but there are rulings we have to stick too. For example you can't go get a loan to do hajj whilst paying interest, as it is said that hajj is only farz when certain conditions are met.
Allah (azza wa jall) knows best.

Asslmau alaykum saying if you dont have a elder brother, or dad or hubby what do you do then. Some Scholars do say in the case of not having a mehram, Hajj is not obligatory upon a woman anyone to eloborate further? Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuI was watching the question answer session on the Ummah channel last night, on which Mufti Ayub Sahib of Bolton's Noorul Islam mosque was answering the questions. A brother asked whether an old woman who had no mehram was allowed to perform Hajj. They said, under no circumstance is she allowed. She must go with a mehram, be it a son, husband, nephew or uncle. At the end of the day, if she gets her calling, she will find a way with the blessings and help of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. And if she was to go without a mehram, then she would receive gunnah every step of the way. So what some tour operators are doing is outrageous and downright irresponsible!

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
i don't agree with going without mehram and i'm unaware of any one doing so.
if you don't have a mehram then i don't see the need to go hajj as that is one of the biggest farz's for a women and if that can't be fulfilled then i don't see hajj being obligatory on the woman.
