ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
The diet of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings upon him, was modest and it reflected the life of a person not in love with the temptations and trappings of this worldly life. The best way to know what and how Our Beloved Nabi Hazrat Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam ate and drank is to let the Hadith on the subject speak for themselves...

The importance of Bismillah at the start
The Messenger of Allah Hazrat Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam[/i] said: "When one of you eats, and he forgets to mention the name of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala then let him say, 'Bismillahi Awwalahu wa Aakhirahu.'
(Narrated in Ashraf al-Wasail ila-fahm al-Shamail, p269).

Asalamualaikum Wa Rakhmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu... Jazakallah Khairan Sayyad Bhaii for the beautiful Information...
Maybe the following information will enlighten everybody too Inshallah.. These are the types of foods that Nabi Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam used to like to eat...
The manners of the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam in eating were the best. He never rejected what was available and used not to request what was not at hand. If he was offered something lawful he ate it, if he disliked it he would set it aside without making it forbidden for others. He never expressed his dislike for a food.
The kinds of food that the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam used to love were many. It is proved that he used to love sweets and honey, as 'Aa'ishah ( Radiallahu Anha) said: "Allaah's Messenger, Prophet Muhammed Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam used to love sweets and honey." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Imaam An-Nawawi said: '(Sweet) in the narration refers to both kinds of sweets, natural and prepared, as reported from Ibn Battaal.'
It is also reported in a sound narration that he used to like butter and dates. [Abu Daawood]
Anas said: "The Prophet used to like pumpkin." [Ahmad and At-Tirmithi]
It is also reported that he was fond of the meat from the arm of a sheep. [Ahmad, Abu Daawood and others]
Al-'Atheem Abaadi said: 'The reason for this fondness is that this meat can be well cooked easily, more delicious and far from any nuisance.'
In short, the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was pleasant and used to like only nice matters. Imaam Al-Khattaabi and others said: 'The fondness of the Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam does not mean that he used to crave for that or yearn for it, but he used to eat from that part whenever meat was presented, so they knew that he liked it.'...
Wasalamu Alaikum Wa Rakhmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu...

Respecting food as it is a gift from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
"The Messenger of Allah Hazrat Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam never ever complained regarding any food, if he liked it he ate it, if did not he left it." (Sunnan Abu Daud)

Gaining blessings (Barakah) by eating together:
The Companions of the Beloved Nabi complained: 'O Messenger of Allah, we eat but are not satiated.' The Messenger of Allah Hazrat Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam[/i] said: 'Perhaps you eat separately?' They replied that they did. He Hazrat Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam[/i] said: 'Eat your food together and say Bismillah before you start, that will bring blessings into your food.'"
