Is there a realistic chance of peace/negotitiations whilst Yasser Arafat is in charge ? Does the old gaurd who are forever inconflict with the younger more democratic palestinians offer any leeway ? The way i look at it any new Palestinian state will have to be earned with concessions otherwise sadly there is likely to be more bloodshed-mainly on the Palestinian front.

Arafat may have been around awhile but withouit him the Israelis may have already sewn up the Westbank and Gaza.
Sharon is the biggest obstacle, get hiim out and a more liberal man in charge of the Israelis and Arafat may yet talk.
