The Reply of Queen Noor Jehan’s maid Once the Mughal queen of India Noor Jahan asked her royal maid servant to bring the mirror for her personal use. The maid went into the palace to bring the mirror but after some time she came to see the queen with empty hands. So the queen asked her in this matter . The maid replied her which is as follows in poetry in the Persian language. AZ QAZAH AINA CHE-NI SHI-KIST (Due to its fate the mirror is broken) Upon hearing the above reply the queen commented in poetry which is as follows. KHUB SHUD AZBAB BINI SHI-KISHT. (Well: the thing of watching is broken) The maid was lovely and very beautiful like fairies and covered her mistake of breaking the mirror in her poetic excellence and for the this reason the queen not scolded her and liked her reason of wisdom in this matter which is clear in the first line of the above poetry. ------------------------------------- Translated from Persian to English by Mohammed Abdul Hafeez, Translator of ‘Tadhkirtal Auliya’ Hyderabad, India. =============== My library link for reading my books. hafeezanwar on Calaméo www.calameo.com/accounts/309382 Cached From hafeezanwar.
