Salaam,
I wish to get advise on reading books for educational purpose. My question is about the author and his /hers belief's. What is required to assess if the authors books are Halal or haram to read? If for example the author is claims to be christian, and expresses these doctrines, but the cover has symbolism. For example a book on martial arts by an american christian author, Bohdi Sanders, who depicts Triangles, and yin yan, dragon eating tail, pagan symbols on the cover of his books? I don't want to read any illuminati doctrine, but he mentions degrees/level of training similar masons. The book is best seller and has great ratings from its readers.

Ps i don't thinks there's anymore references to these symbols in the text it self just on the cover, and also degrees of training? Ps please check author Bohdi Sanders book on Amazon to understand my perspective? Salaam.

No need to read books written by Christians, jews, sikhs, bhuddists or those belonging any other religion other than islam. Infact if you wanna learn martial arts then learn from a muslim trainer(there's plenty around). these books written by non muslims have their own bias (in favour of their own false religions in them and Christian missionaries are the most deceptive in their ways to attract people to their kufr),and can cause confusion and doubts(if not having enough knowledge of ones own religion) for ones own belief too.
Just learn about islam the only true religion.
PS Even if this author is not intending to deceive, the fact remains he is still a kaafir and holder of kufr belief and an enemy of islam,PLEASE KEEP AWAY.
