Assalam wa Alaikum,
Hope all are well. There was a query with which assistance/guidance will be appreciated.
To provide this in a scenario: A jamaat follows an Imaam for Jummah, consistently every Friday. Then comes Eid UL Fitr. A certain small portion of the Jamaat do not follow this Imaam and do their own group for the Eid namaaz - because they have a difference of opinion to the imaam (eg.difference of opinion being on which day is Eid. Imaam would pray of Tuesday but this small group would pray on Wednesday) Come Friday, this smaller group joins the Imaam again for Jummah
Question: 1. For this smaller group, what is the permissibility of having 2 imaams? One for Jummah and having another for Eid?
2. If this smaller group knowing that they differ from the Imaam for Eid issue, is it permissible for them to even pray Jummah behind this Imaam? Rather, how can one pray behind an Imaam with whom they do not agree with? How can one pray behind an Imaam to whom they do not submit wholeheartedly?
3. To push Question 2 in another perspective- what is the state of a man's namaaz/imaan who prays Jummah behind an Imaam and knows that he disagrees with him (eg. Eid namaaz)?
Would appreciate assistance in the matter; any citations/hadith would be great.
Mederators: please feel free to move it to the appropriate category should it be required.
