As-Salaam alaikum, As you know, the Sunnah refers to the commands, prohibitions, sayings, actions and tacit approvals of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. The whole of the Sunnah falls under the Command of Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, in the Holy Qur'an:--
"Whatsoever the Messenger gives you [then] take it, and whatsoever he prohibits you from, [then] refrain from it.'' (al-Hashar 59:7)
Among the signs of love of the Sunnah is love for the Hereafter and hatred for this life, except in what is needed to arrive safely in the Hereafter. Imam Sahl Ibn Abdullah, may Allah be Merciful to him, said:--
"The sign of love for Allah is having love for the Qur'an. The sign of having love for the Qur'an is love for the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. The sign of love for the Prophet is love for the Sunnah. The sign of love for the Sunnah is love for the Hereafter. The sign of love for the Herafter is dislike for this world's life. The sign of dislike of this world's life is that one only takes from it what is sufficient as provision and as a means to help him reach the Hereafter.''
