As-Salaam alaikum, With the Spanish Arab, Qadi Iyad (d. 1149), may Allah be Merciful to him, as he says in his 'Kitab al-Shifa bi ta'rif al-Mustafa', the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, had assumed all the qualities embodied in the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah.
Muhammad Rasulullah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, as al-insan al-kamil, the perfect man, was commended in the Holy Qur'an that he has a ''mighty morality..(khuluq 'azim)' - (Qur'an 68:4) This is in reference to the Prophet's perfection of his Divine potentialities through his actualization of the Divine Names.
According to Sayyadi Ibn Arabi in his 'Futuhat Makkiyyah', the supremacy of Muhammad among other prophets and other perfect men is demonstrated by the hadith in which he, the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, says he was given the ''all-comprehensive words (jawami al-kalim)''. These words, says Ibn Arabi, are Allah's Names and indicate the all-inclusiveness of Muhammad's Prophetic Message and why he will be the master of humanity of the Day of Resurrection.
Not only does this indicate that the religion taught by Muhammad comprises all other revealed religions, and that he is the most perfect of all perfect men, but it has direct implications for the spiritual aspirations and methods of the Sufi and of all those embarking on the path to Allah Ta'ala.
