~ Acquire knowledge, because he who acquires it, in the way of the Lord, performs an act of piety; who speaks of it praises the Lord; who seeks it, adores God, who dispenses instruction in it, bestows alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of devotion to God. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden from what is not; lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our companion in solitude, our companion, it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armor against our enemies. With knowledge the creatures of Allah rises to the heights of goodness and to noble position, associates with the sovereigns in this world and attains the perfection of happiness in the next.
~ Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and burns wood.
~ Whoever suppresses his anger, when he has in his power to show it, God will give him a great reward.
~ He is not strong and powerful, who throws people down, but he is strong who withholds himself from anger.
~ Deal gently with a people, and be not harsh; cheer them and condemn not.
~ Much silence and a good disposition; there are no two works better than these.
~ The best of friends is he who is best in behavior and character.

~ One who does not practice modesty and does not refrain from shameless deeds is not a Muslim.
~ He who wishes to enter Paradise must please his father and mother.
~ No one who keeps his mind focussed entirely upon himself, can grow large, strong and beautiful in character.
~ Whoever loves to meet God, God loves to meet him.
~ The five stated prayers erase the sins which have been committed during the intervals between them if they have not been mortal sins.
~ God is not merciful to him who is not so to humankind. He who is not kind to God's creation and to his own children, God will not be kind to him.
~ Whosoever visits a sick person, an angel calls from Heaven: "Be happy in the world and happy be your walking; and take your habitation in Paradise."
~ The love of the world, is the root of all evils.
~ Wealth properly employed is a blessing; and a man may lawfully endeavour to increase it by honest means.
~ One must expect chaos and calamities when incompetent and corrupt individuals capture power to rule over the people and when hooligans, incapable and impious people gather the reins of leadership and are respected by the society.

Subhanallah! ... one of favourites!
From the Qur'an.
"It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty) and measured out stages for her: that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain his Signs in detail for those who understand.
Verily in the alternation of the Night and the Day and in all that Allah hath created in the heavens and the earth are Signs for those who fear Him." [Sura Yasin]

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Imam Bukhari (Rahimahullah) stated in his Sahih (vol. 9, chapter. 10, English ed'n),
"The statement of the Prophet (Peace be upon him): 'A group of my followers will remain victorious in their struggle in the cause of the Truth.' Those are the religious(ly) learned men (Ahl ul-Ilm)."

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Mashallah I can think of a few examples of these corrupt leaders. Not a hadith i have read before though. Hooligans though?? Probably the most appropiate word to describe them in the context. Dont forget its a translation of a narration, not the real word.

The Prophet's Recommendation Allah bless and greet him - to Ibn `Abbas in Which He Describes the Habits A Believer Must Have With Allah Almighty
Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn `Abbas - Allah be well-pleased with both of them! - that he said:
"I was [riding] behind the Prophet one day and he said to me: 'O my boy! I shall teach you certain words. Keep Allah [with you], and He shall keep you. Keep Allah [with you], and you shall find Him facing you. If you ask for something, ask Allah. If you seek help, seek it from Allah. Know with certainty that if the entire Community gather together to support you, they can benefit you nothing except in what Allah has foreordained for you; and if they gather together in order to harm you, they can harm you in nothing except in what Allah has foreordained against you. The quills have been raised and the records are dry.'"
Imam Ahmad added in his narration: "Seek to know Allah in the time of prosperity and He shall know you in the time of affliction. Know that perseverance in the face of what you hate is an immense good, that help lies with patience, deliverance with trial, and with hardship goes ease."
NOTES 1 Narrated from Ibn `Abbas by Ahmad in his Musnad with a sound chain as stated by Shaykh Ahmad Shakir
