Dear Respected Imam,
I hope you are in good health and also would like to say Ramadan Mubarak to you & your family. I have 2 quick questions that i hope you could help me with.
1. What is the sunnah to put on ones beard? 2. Did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) use black or white musk?
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
Wa Alaykum Assalaam

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is sunnah to put oil on the beard. Normally olive, but that does not prevent you from putting any other oil on, as it is the sunnah that we are performing, and not which oil. Henna can also be applied which is another sunnah. The musk that was used by the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam was the pure musk, which would be pretty hard to find (if that is what you meant). But again that does not mean that you are not performing the sunnah if you use any other, like white musk. The intention is the sunnah, and every sunnah must be performed in good value. It is the intention that counts, and not the product. Hence the hadith: 'Indeed actions are dependant upon the intentions...'(Bukhari) Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
