Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuPraise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam)Jazak'allah for your question. Indeed the existence of 'Gog and Magog' are true, and no one can deny it, but what is the purpose, of you saying this? I dont think there is the exact place that is named where Hadrat Dhul Qarnayn had contained them, but looking at 'Tafsir-e-Na'imi' by Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na'imi, he mentions in one of two places that, Allah the Almighty states: 'Inna ya'juja wa ma'juja mufsiduna fil ardh'
'Indeed Yajuj and Ma'juj make mischief on the earth'
(Surah al Kahf)
The other place where they are mentioned in the Qur'an al kareem is: 'Hatta idha futihat Yajuju wa majuju wa hum min kulli hadabiyy yansilun' (Al-Ambiya') This verse concentrates on their majority, their arriving near the day of Judgement, and their release. What we are concerned with is the former verse upon which the commentary states: 'Until they landed victorious towards the north, after they had conquered the east and the west, north of Hamdan, which is part of Iran, in which there are two mountains. On one side is the mountain of Armenia, and on the other side is the mountain of Azerbaijan. In between them is a very wide path, beyond which is a very big jungle, and wherein there are no inhabitants. When these two montains were divided amongst their path, the two paths became to be known as 'saddayn', by the Qur'an. Near the mountains they found a great nation populated. This nation did not speak the language of Siqander or his armies, or it means that they did not have the intelect. They took Dhul Qarnayn as their saviour and said to him: 'Indeed on the other side of the mountain is a nation that comes to our lands, and kills and destroys, and causes mischief, is it possible that you may erect a wall between our path, and their path, so that it prevents them from entering upon us? Whatever materials that are necessary in bricks, sand, earth and whatever we shall provide as a means for you. The name of this nation has been mentioned above, which is Yajuj and Majuj, from the family of Yafis bin Nuh, from which stemmed five nations: a)Turk, they have been called this, because they once were resident with Yajuj and Majuj, but later they came to the civilised world. b) Barbar c) Saqaliyah d) Yajuj e) Majuj At that time Yajuj were of a great height, and Majuj were normal in height. There are other tales about these people. For example they had big ears, and they used one ear as a mattress, and the other ear as a quilt, or pillow. But all these are false stories. In the autumn months they would emerge, from their residence, and whatever they got their hands on including money and wealth, they would take, including men and animals.....' This is what I have found in the Tafsir of the Qur'an al kareem, and is probably as reliable as it could get, other than that their are lots of misheard stories about Yajuj and Majuj. I hope that the geographical description given above, gives you an idea, of whereabout this nation lies, and that you have been given a brief overview, of their existence. May Allah the Almighty help us to read about the truth, and keep away from false tales, that have been made up, to confuse men.Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
