Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhui hope you are in good health i recieved an email today which read : Yesterday was our weekly youth conference in Jamea Masjid Preston. A very interesting topic caught my attention!!! Maulaana Ilyas -the imam of our masjid was asked the meaning of 786 .Does it have any >>>significance in Islam Does it mean bismillah hirahmaanir raheem?? Sadly the answer was no. Due to our ignorance we have used these numbers believing them to be sacred .What they actually signify is the hindu God HARI OHM. I felt sick when I heard this, so I decided to pass the info to as many people as possible. When I was learning Arabic a few years ago my teacher told me there is a system inArabic called the abjad system in which each Arabic letter signifies a number .But 786 has no bases in Islam. Please pass on I dont no if this masjid is a wahabi masjid or not but i thought i would ask, and i have also read the other question some one asked about 786 and how each letter has a number assigned to it and it adds up to 786. But does 786 have any relation to any hindu god? is this true? Many masjids have 786 written on them , surely it cant be true! Can you please give me some more information on it. Jazakallah Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa SallamThis question, has been answered previously in depth, see the links below for further guidance. Whatever the E-mails say, it doesnt really matter. How can an abbreviation of ' Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem' have a link to the Nasarah? Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
