I hope this question reaches you in the best of health respected Imam.
My question was in regards to the title Mujaddid of the century, I was hoping to find out as to who gives the Mujaddid this title?
Secondly, who is the Mujaddid of this century?
finaly, the al-Azhar institution in Cairo,Egypt is that a Sunni institution? someone once told me it had shia origins and was called al-Zahra in respect of Nabi Kareem Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam daughther Hzt Bibi Fatimah Radi Allahu anha

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuPraise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa SallamJazak'allah for your question. It is the common ' Ulama (scholars), who nominate a mujaddid, at the turn of a particular century. They research, study and analyse his works, and through that they nominate him, as their mujaddid (reviver). For the last part of the century, in the subcontinent, Imam Ahmad Rida Barelvi Rehmatullahi ta'ala ’Alaih was known as the Mujaddid of the century, as he had been given this title by numerous scholars from all around the world. I am not quite sure who the mujaddid is, or will be in this century, although there have been quiet a few suggestions. Nor am I aware of Al-Az'har university belonging to shi'ites, in terms of origin. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to be good educated Muslims. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
