Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
After a number of our regular members went to perform Hajj earlier this year, I was wondering if anyone is definitely going this year or is planning to go ?
Also what are the best packages, and going rate for stay in Makkah and Madinah ta'l Munnawara, and what does it cost for travel and stay from different parts of the world ?

I think you should expect to pay around the £2000 mark for a decent 4 star hotel with two sharing. The above packages are alright for big groups or families with 6/7 sharing.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Anyone thinking of going from the northwest of England, Sayed Zafar Shah Iqbal Ashrafi has been running a hajis tour with others for the last few years. Shah sahib looks after all the hajis and the prices i believe are very competitive. Shah sahib is based in Blackburn Lancashire.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu I have not heard anything either, given that Hadrat Shaykh al Islam only went earlier this year its looking unlikely. I am not certain on Hadrat Ghazi al Millat either, as they too have just returned from Umrah and were planning on going to South Africa and possible even Holland in the near future.

This is a total contradiction when we are supposed to be at the mercy of our creater all equal in our ihram and surroundings.

In this day and age thats what everyone seems to worried about, will i be comfortable? No doubt the journey to Hajj is about trying to give up your love for the world and be happy to be in any situation.

786, Salaam, Yes i agree with you totally, when we (me and my father), went last year, it was four of us in one room- young ladies. Four older ladies in another and then same for men. everything was fine Alhamdulillah except that the fridge was broken and there was only one bathroom which made me upset and quite hurt when the others made wuzu and went to Masjid al Haram and not waited for me. But it was all part of sabar and shukar.
However i much prefered the hotel we stayed in Madinal Al munawara, much more homely and daylight also. To be honest i did not want to come back.
May Allah give me and all the Umati of Muhammad mustafa-PBUH the tawfiq in completing Hajj.
Allah Hafiz.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu I cannot understand how some people behave during haj. It is supposed to get you closer to God, to test your faith to make you realise that everything we do, and say should be for our Creator. Life is too short. Hope the sisters who left you on your own, realise the error of their ways at some point.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Talking about behaviour during Haj. I have heard disturbing reports that some hajis were openly receiving and speaking on mobiles whilst doing tawaf around baituallah. Why dont the heavy security stop this and confiscate the phones instead of being heavy handed on genuine pilgrims supplicating and parying darood in Masjid-e-Nabwi (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) .....

Actually security is quite strict, i have heard they do confiscate mobiles, but maybe not strict enough inside the haramain sharif ? Whose fault is that ? if people are ignorant to want to sneak their phones with them inside the holiest sanctuary on earth, what does that say about their haj ?
