Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
Sacrifice is the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim alaihis salam, and no act is more liked by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala on the 10th of Zill Hajj than sacrificing an animal.
Hazrat Zaid Bin Arqam radiallaho ta'ala anho narrates that the companions asked the Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam "What is this sacrifice?" The reply given was, "It is the Sunnah of your Father Ibrahim" The companions asked, "What reward is there for us in this sacrifice?" The reply this time was, "Each hair is reward for you" (Ibn Majah)
Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa radaiallaho ta'ala anha narrates that Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam said, "No deed is more beloved during the days of sacrifice than sacrificing an animal. That animal will come on the day of judgement with it's horns, hair and skin, and before the blood of the aminal touches the ground it is accepted in the court of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala Therefore perform it gladly. (Abu Daud, Tirmizi)
Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbas Radi Allahu anhu says that Rasool Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam said that the wealth spend on an sacrificial animal is the most beloved wealth. (Tibrani)
The person that does not perform sacrifice, even though he has the means, Rasool Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamhas expressed great disappointment at such a person. He stated, "The person that has the means and does not perform sacrifice should not even come near our eid prayer" (Ibn Majah)
