Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Wa'laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. Zaynul-'Abideen, try never to forget your sehri niyyat, because the niyyat has many good rewards. These rewards are for free, especially if you know your niyyat off by heart. Your fast will still count even if you forget to do niyyat at sehri time. If you go to sleep after you forget to do your niyyat, you are still allowed to say your niyyat when you wake up, or later on in the day. It is best to make the niyyat before mid-day, because that is the time that half of the fast is finished. However, some people say that if you think of keeping a fast and dont say anything this is also niyyat. Because we all have books and teachers, and learning capability, we should always try to learn and remember the niyyat so that we can achieve our best. Thanks for your question. Allah knows the best answers. M. Waseem Ashrafi
