Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa SallamJazak'allah for your questions and Ramadhan al Mubarak to you also. In regard to your questions, please refer to the following:
1] Sister, where exactly does it state that the
jinns are chained up in
Ramadhan, if you could provide some reference as this is the first time I am hearing this. You may have read or heard this from an unreliable source. However, where you read that the
jinns are locked up in the month of
Ramadhan, may mean that the
shaytanic jinns are locked up?
Remember, that the
jinn is a creation of Allah the Almighty also. Within them there are good and bad, Muslim and non-Muslim,
jinns who fast, and those who dont. So it would be incorrect to say that all the
jinns are chained up in Ramadhan.
2] The Shaytan is definitely chained in the month of
Ramadhan, but he still has his agents, and his temptations (
waswaas) which live amongst people. It is these temptations that Muslims try to erase while they are fasting. Otherwise, the main shaytan is locked up.
If we do not sleep according to how Muslims should sleep, then it is possible that the shaytan has his effect on you, and you may end up having bad dreams. To prevent this, you should sleep according to the
sunnah (Prophetic traditions), and pray also, before you retire to sleep.
3] The door to hell is closed during the month of
Ramadhan means that:
All Muslims are engaged in worship 24 hours a day during the month of
Ramadhan. When they wake, they have
sehri, then they pray
Fajr, then they may go to work and earn a
halal livelihood, or even look after their children. They pray all their
salah, and recite as much
Qur'an as possible. They do
iftari and pray
tarawih, they sleep and do everything else according to the
sunnah. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that they commit any sin in the month of
Ramadhan, not unless you do it intentionally.
Furthermore, the blessings are showered from the sky throughout
Ramadhan. Rewards are made seventy fold, and anything good you do is multiplied. This makes Muslims want to do more good. Charities are given. People experience what it is like to go without food and water during daytime. All this is beloved to Allah the Almighty, and He will not punish anyone for doing this.
4] A woman should keep her head covering on all the time, unless she is alone and needs to take it off. Part of the respect of listening to the
Qur'an or even praying the
Qur'an, is to keep the head covered, as this applies to men also.
5] Of course you get credit for reading the
Qur'an in English. You are reading and understanding the
Qur'an, whereas if you read it without the meaning, then you would only get the reward for it's recitation. To know, and to understand the meaning is very important, and it carries great reward also.
If there are any other questions you would like to ask, do not hesitate to post again.
