Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Using toothpaste while fasting is not forbidden, its just disliked (makruh). This is because it leaves a taste of mint in your mouth, and mint is a plant. It is then normal to swallow saliva from your mouth, which allows the mint taste to enter your stomach. This is what renders a fast as makruh. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
