asalaam-alaikum,
What do the scholars say regarding the person praying iqamah ? Does the person have to have a beard, and what if he hasnt fulfilled his daily farz salat requirements ?
Will the muqtadis salat count if they are behind such a person ?

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahim Wa'laykum As Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu, The question relating to the person who says aqaamah, who is not fulfilling his daily prayer, and who has not performed the Sunnah of keeping a beard is known as a 'faasiq'. Such a person should not be given the opportunity to say the aqaamah, although the priority of saying the aqaamah goes to the person who had said the adhaan. There are a few conditions of saying adhaan, from which the same person will be entitled to saying aqaamah, unless he nominates someone else. Those are that he must be mentally sane, physically mature (i.e. reached the age of puberty), he must be obedient (muttaqi), he must know the condition of the people amongst whom he lives, and must practice, and must be a knower of the Sunnah. In the Radd-al-Muhtaar, it says: "It is not permissable to rely upon a sinner (faasiq) muqabbir, behind an imaam."We have just stated above the conditions of a mu'addhin but what must be remembered is that the aqaamah is a stronger Sunnah-e-Mu'aqqidah, than the adhaan, so stricter application of the conditions relating to the person saying the adhaan must be applied.
