Bismillahir-Rahmair-Rahim Wa’laykum-as-Salaam, My brother! One of the conditions of praying salaat is to be clean. This cleanliness is then achieved by either ghusl (sunnah bath), or wudhu’, or both. Once we have understood this, then it is normal for people to sweat, until the time arrives when it is time for salaat again, at which stage there is nothing wrong with performing wudhu’ on top of your first wudhu’, as this is a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) and is commendable (mustahsin). However, when you visit the toilet beforehand, you must make sure that you thoroughly perform ‘istinja’. This will keep you from sweating below in salaat. However, there may be cases where somebody has held there wudhu’ i.e. not negated it, then you are still allowed to pray salaah. You may still be able to handle the Qur’an, and go into Mosque. These days many Mosques have the washroom close by and it does not take long to perform fresh wudhu’, if the time allows, and if the need be.However sweating alone will not break ones wudhu’ as this is common amongst men and women, as opposed to impurities which emerge from one or both parts of the body known as the ‘sabilayn’. May Allah the Almighty keep us all in a state of purity, eternally. Wallaho a’lamo biththawaab. M. Waseem Ashrafi.
