Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam, Remember there are 4 obligatory parts to Whu'du, they are washing of the face, hands upto elbows, wiping the head and washing the feet. To miss any of these areas will make the Whu'du invalid and will have to be repeated. If any of the other acts of whu'du ie, making the intention, washing the hands, rinsing the mouth and nostrils etc are unintentionally omitted then the wudu will stand but whether or not with the same reward and blessings is in Allahs hands. However to intentionally miss any of these sunnat acts is most undesirable and neglect of a regular practice of our Blessed Prophet, (infinite peace be upon Him), the same can be said regarding the maintenance of the correct order. There are many many benefits and hidden manifestations in performing the ablution but the reward, blessing, protection, spiritual and physical purification etc all slowly diminish as we become slack, negligent or become weak in our true intention and concentration. Hence the perfect whu'du wont be achieved by doing it in the wrong order and/or leaving out essential areas. May Almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) keep us all steadfast in all aspects of worship and help us to maintain Total love and respect of every Sunnah of His Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam).
