Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Imam sahib,
I have been meaning to ask you this for a while. When praying salat and you go into ruku, you are supposed to keep your back straight but are you allowed to bend your knees slightly to accomplish this, or is bending the knees not permissable. The only way i can get into an approved postion of ruku is by doing this but dont wish to jeapordise other parts of my salat.
May Allah bless you and give you tawfiq for guiding us to the path of truth.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, Praise be to Allah the Almighty, and may He send Endless Blessings upon Our Master, the Last Beloved Prophet of Mankind (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam).Jazakallah for your question on salaat. When you are in ruku', it does not really matter whether your knees are bent slightly, because you are going more than your way to accomplish this. Allah does not want any nafs to have difficulty as a burden ... 'la yukallif ullahu nafsann illa wus'a ha laha'. If you feel that by bending your kness you are accomplishing the fard/sunnah, and it gives you peace of mind, then it is permissable. But if you feel that you are doing more than what is required, then as long as your back is straight, in that if anything was placed on it, it wouldnt fall, then it does not matter whether you bend your knees or not. If you do this, you will not be jeopardising any other part of your salah, as long as it is not done out of laziness. May Allah the Almighty give you, and me, and everyone else the tawfiq to pray five times Salah, and may He make us firm upon it, and may He increase our knowledge, so that we can receive His endless bounties, both in this world, and the hereafter.Wallahu A'lamu Biththawaab M.
