Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
First of all, thanks you imamsahab for answering my previous question. It is really great oppertunity for us to have a sunni imam to answer our questions on this cyber world.
I read somewhere abt praing namaz with shoes on and I was surprised that it's allowed and recommanded. What is sunni akida on this and if it is allowed and recommanded.
Jazakallah.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved and Final Messenger, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa aalihi wa Sallam)Jazak'Allah for your question. Although it is impermissable in Islam to pray salaah with your shoes on, nevertheless there is a hadith which has stated that to pray two nafils of thanksgiving when you buy a new pair of shoes is allowed. The difference what must be bourne in mind is that, old shoes sometimes carry dirt and filth, and one of the conditions of praying salaah is that one must have clean clothes, and be in a clean place. The shoes that were once bought in ancient Islamic times, were clean and of a pure nature. These days shoes that are new, can sometimes be made from those materials, which are disallowed in Islam. Since shoes are worn outside, in modern times, this has prevented in praying salaah in them, thus the practice of praying thanksgiving salaah when buying a pair of new shoes has somewhat diminished. But the law regarding wearing new shoes when they are first bought, and praying thanksgiving salah (nafil) in them, still stands. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to understand the importance of our salaah, and may He keep us pure at all times.Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
