Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
i would like to ask a question on my husbands behalf. he has recently started training to be a bus driver and the training lasts around six weeks. this means he will miss 6 juma's. he can't get out of training to go to pray as there is a risk he will lose the job. he can get away if he lies but i don't feel that to be right. he normally reads 5 times namaaz but since starting work he misses zuhr as it is winter. can you recommend what he should do in this situation as i don't want him lying but he seriously doesn't want to miss his juma prayer. he has now missed 2 and this friday will be his third. please imam sahib tell us what to do as i read in the archive section that he who misses 3 consecutive juma's has thrown Islam over his shoulder.
Jazakallah Khair may this question find you in the best of health. Ameen.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam You are correct in stating that whoever misses three consecutive jummas has thrown Islam over his shoulder. The reason why so much emphasis is placed upon salah, amongst other issues amongst the youth these days, is exactly why so much encouragement goes into the praying of salah. Additionally jumma is so important, that it is regarded as an eid. To miss this is to miss the infinite blessings of both this world, and the hereafter. There must be a way, through the training, by which he can make an excuse, not to miss the Friday prayer. Since it is in the lunch hour, around 1;00 pm, I thought that if he could take his lunch hour out, he may be able to join it. Sometimes if the time is not convenient, then adjustments as to the time, with the attendance at another mosque, which holds it's prayer time at maybe 1.30 or even 12.30 could suffice. However, as I am nopt acqainted with the time schedules of your husbands training, nor his lunch hour, I thought I'd mention this, so that at least he may be able to adjust a bit of/part of his training for the sake of the Jummah prayer. Insha'Allah please make du'a as Allah the Almighty will find a way for your husband, once the above few points are discussed. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
