Assalaamu allaykum,
I am new to this site and not aware of how to work on forums on this site.
So any mistakes please forgive me as i have joined today .
My question is regarding the witr Prayer in Isha. I went to the salaat section on this site and read the following: Originally taken from the salaat section of this site: At first complete 2 Cycles as normal, and get up for the third Cycle immediately after reciting the “Tashahhud” in the Qaadah. In the third Cycle, recite the "Sana", "Tawuz", “Tasmiyah”, Surah alFatehah plus a small Surah (or equivalent), and then proclaiming “Allahu Akbar”, raise both hands to the ears and then fold them again below the navel. Now recite the Qunoot Supplication, as under:
I have heard first time that we have to start with Sana and Ta'awwuz in the third rakat. Is it right or a error??If it is true then any reference for the above from any sunni authentic books??

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Jazak'allah for your question. It is not a must that a person recites the sana', the ta'awwuz, and the tasmiyah at the beginning of the third rakah. There is however, nothing prohibiting it, and it is not neccessary either. Normally we do not recite these, but just continue as we would for any other rakah. May Allah the Almighty give us all the strenghth to perform five times salah, which is accepted in His eyes, and may He keep us all firm upon it. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
