Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam Respected Imam sahib hope you are in the best of health. We have had a thread questioning the permissibility of reading salaah whilst travelling on a plane. We would be grateful if you could answer this query according to the Quran and Sunnah. JazakAllah khairun Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Jazak'allah for your question. It is permissable to pray salah on the plane, and provisions are normally made for people to pray salah on the plane as well. Since salah is fard, as is stated: 'wa aqimus salah' and stand for prayer, it makes it obligatory to pray salah. However ahadith from the famous books have stated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam had prayed salah, while they were mounted on an animal (mule/camel) etc. It are these ahadith which can be found in the 'Kitabus salah' of Sahih Bukhari, Muslim, Jame-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abu Da'ud etc. which provide the permissability of praying salah whilst you are on a vehicle, whether it is a car, bus, train, or even aeroplane, as all these items are regarded as carriers of passengers, for which the mule, horse, and camel also were, in the times of the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. I hope that this reason, does answer your query, and that you will post back if in doubt. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
