Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Jazak'allah for your question. Although Islam does not say that you have to disclose your personal details when you apply for a mortgage, however, it does say that a person should not lie. Therefore this situation is regarded as a sin in Islam, as the Qur'an clearly states : 'la'natullahi 'alal kazibin'
'The curse of Allah is upon the liars' May Allah the Almighty give us the strength, power and ability to stand up and be firm with the truth in all of our daily actions and thoughts.Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
