Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam No, Allah the Almighty is not stingy in His Forgiving. If He wants , He may Forgive all the people of the face of the earth, and if He wills He can punish them all. The principle to remember is that once someone has committed an act of sin, no matter how great, if he/she repents, then Allah the Almighty's Forgiveness is so great, that we could not even have imagined. The Bukhari relates a story about a man who said to his family that when I die, I want you to burn me and scatter my dust through the winds. We all know that to commit suicide is one of the gravest sins, therefore punishment for this will be given. The man did this out of shamefulness, and when the Day of judgement arrived Allah the Almighty saw what the man did, and Forgave him. The lesson to be learn't from this is that no one should under estimate the creator, when He wants to forgive, and when He wants to punish, but in return we should be grateful and thankful of His favours to us, by living like clean and pure humans, accepting His laws, acting upon His laws, not contravening any of His principles, by believing in His Book, and the last day, so that we at least remain as Muslims, and by doing so, even if we make a mistake or a sin, we may still have hope of asking Him for Forgiveness, and hoping that He will Forgive us. The Qur'an states: 'ud'uni astajib lakum' 'ask from me and I will accept.' also a hadith states that: 'Iman lies between hope and fear'. This means that hope of reaching our ultimate destination, and fear of His wrath, that any sin we may commit may be forgiven, but not to commit that same act again. May Allah the Almighty prevent us all from the sins of this world, and may He make this world and the next world a better world for us. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
