Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I'm a new member here and this is my fir Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhust post, I came across this site after questioning myself if what i was doing was halaal.
I work on campus at my colleges' cafeteria, (its a mexican resturaunt) So we make burritos, tacos, nachos, all the basics. Theres one problem though and I've been put in so much thought about it, we also serve 'chilli verde' which is made of pork, its used as one of the 3 choices u have from waht u want in ur burrito. Everything is served by spoons and later folded into a burrito by hand, (which are gloved). I dont knwo ive been feeling it mor esince its Ramadan, but is it haram to do that?
I dont ever come in physical hand contact with the meat, I've had it get on my gloves and would change them right after afraid of touching myself with the same hands...is it haram to do what I'm doing, because its a job, and I'm not profitting from selling.
Please do let me know.... Jazaka'Allah Khair... <3 Your sister in Islam <3 Assalaam'o'alaikum

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Wa'laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. Dear sister, I hope that you realise what is halaal in Islam, and what is haraam, and what their implications are. My intention is not to steer you away from the path of Islam, and nor am I willing to make you give up your livelihood, which you earn for yourself. However, Islam does state clearly that you must eat from what is lawful. This means that anything you buy, eat serve, distribute, collect, and sell, must be of halal nature. This is regardless of whether it is pork, lamb, alcohol, or any other substance that is haraam, it must be halaal, otherwise the money that you earn from selling, collecting, making, distributing, serving and buying these products, will lead in you earning an income which is in non-effect halaal. This could mean that the food you eat, share, and the money you give in charity or for other good causes may not be valid, as it could be haraam. Is there a way where we can stop serving haraam food, and undertake another duty, like cleaning the tables, or washing the dishes? These are only a few suggestions. It may be that you are quiete serious, and for that cause, may want to give up your job completely, and start a new one , where there is no serving, or haraam food involved. There are a few avenues, in which you could make your decision, but only depending on how seriously you take this life, the life after death, and the eternal life. May Allah dwell us all in what is halaal, and may he keep us away from what is Haraam. Jazaakallahu Khayrann. M. Waseem Ashrafi.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I just wanted to say Jazaka'Allah to you. I've quit my job, my last working day was abt 1 week ago. I didnt want to quit it knowing I had income coming in, but as you stated before it was haram money so it was pointless having that money. Khair, I quit the job saying the name of Allah (SWT).
May Allah (swt) reward you for helping me in such a matter. May all you jai'z wishes come true. Insha'Allah...Ameen, Sumameen. Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
And a special thanks to, Ghulam Mustufa for unlcoking this for me so I can thank the Imam. :rose:

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, Dear Sister in Islam, I am so glad that you made the right decision, in regard to selling what you were. However, there are millions of other ways, that Allah the Almighty shall provide sustenance for His creation. Realise, how no creature on earth is deprived of his sustenance, as Allah the Almighty provides for all. However, when the time comes, it is us who must realise what we are doing is right or wrong. I pray for you on this night of Ramadhan, that may Allah the Almighty grant you an even easier, and a much more better paid job, where nor you or I have ever imagined. Once again, congratulations on the sacrifice you have made. Insha'Allah, it will pay off. Jazakallah humul khayr M. Waseem Ashrafi
