Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Imam saheb,
Since the latest developments in the world and at the forum, I remembered an incidence happened to me 3 years ago. I used to have a dutch teacher, who always talked about the items in the news. One time he was talking about the Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam). He associated the paak name of RasoolAllah saws, with a pedofile. He said that if someone has sex with a 9 year old he is a pedofile, so Theo van Gogh is totally right about abusing the name of the Prophet Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. Since I didn't know much about the subject, the only thing I could do is keep quiet. I was really disturbed, and I felt really guilty that I couldn't stop him, saying so many bad things about Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam). After this, I did know everything about the subject, but I didn't confront the man with this for not having the guts....
Now did I commit a gunaah by not saying anything? What should have done? And my general question, if someone talks bad about the Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam), what should we do!! Nowadays this is the only thing that happens around the world, I'm really wondering what our role, as muslims in this is. And why is it happening? Thank you in advance for the answer.
Allah hafiz!
