Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi SallamAny surah can be read from the Qur'an al kareem, anywhere in the world, except for those places that are dirty. Scholars have also said that it is permissible to pray the Qur'an al kareem (and that includes Surah Rahman) in the graveyard. The person who said that it is not permissable to read this Surah in the graveyard, must prove beyond reasonable doubt, that Surah Rahman was prohibited to read in the graveyard. If he cant then he has falsely attributed an accusation to the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, and a hadith states: 'Whoever told a lie against me, let him know that his abode is the hellfire.' (Bukhari). In relation to the above, Allah the Almighty has stated: 'It is a guide for the obedient' (Baqarah) and 'It is a remedy for the people' (Nahl) further, it is stated: 'Then read that much which is sufficient for you' (Muzammil) and also: 'And we revealed the Qur'an al kareem that which is a remedy and mercy for the believers' (Al-Isra) All these verses, prove the advantages of reciting the Qur'an al kareem, and what effect it has on the believers. There is no prohibitions placed that stipulate you cant recite the Qur'an al kareem in a graveyard, or that you cant recite a particular Surah in a graveyard. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to understand, and honour the Qur'an al kareem. (Amin) Wallahu A'almu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
