Assalaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
Dear Imam Saheb,
I wish to enquire regarding students of hifzul-quran, while reciting the quran from memory they move foward and backward during the recitation, is this act sinful or blameworthy, as several people have spoken harsh of these students.
Thanking you alot for your great service! Jazakallah
wassalamu alaikum warahmatullah

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Jazak'allah for your question. Students who are engaged in Hifzul Qur'an, and who move backward and forth, are neither sinful, nor blameworthy, as there is nothing which states it is forbidden. This is an action which occurs naturally in some students, and should not be discouraged or be a target of discussion, as there are more pressing issues in Islam which should be targetted for discussion.
