Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuPraise be to Allah who is the lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa SallamJazak'allah for your question. Just remember the sunnah of the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam, that every Friday one should take ghusl, trim the moustache, trim the nails, and wear perfume ( i'tr). If you do this every Friday ( Jumaah) with the correct intention, Insha'Allah you will not escape the sunnah. Secondly, the jurists ( fuqaha') have placed a limit with reference to ahadith of the forty day period. Just because someones toe nails dont grow long enough within forty days does not mean he/she does not have to cut them. Accordingly, one should not go over this time limit of forty days in cutting their nails, as when dirt and other bacteria gather in the nails it is not hygienic, and Islam is a natural religion ( fitrah), and we should adhere to it's principles accordingly. If we look after ourselves regularly, and according to the sunnah of the Beloved Messenger of Islam, Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam, we would not have to be confused regarding such easy matters. May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq to be clean and pure which is beloved to Him. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM Waseem Ashrafi
