Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) The questioner, quotes the following hadith, and asks the question whether we can find morality, in such an act. The hadith is from Bukhari Shareef : Volume 7, Book 62, Number 137: Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: ''We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them. So we asked Allah's Apostle about it and he said, "Do you really do that?" repeating the question thrice, "There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection."You can only ask this question, of whether it is moral or immoral, if you yourself have been in a war, as did the Noble Companions of the Beloved Messenger of Allah ( Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam). Gaining war booty, is to win the war, and when you win the war, then there can be women, children, wealth, money, land, and all other forms of posessions. In cases of people, then they have to be looked after, just as you would look after your own family. It may be that their family is all dead, and they need the basic essentials of life, like food, water, money, a home, possibly a job, or a husband, or a wife, or for children to be looked after. What may seem immoral now, maybe a luxury after a war is over, therefore the question of whether to have sexual relations with slavegirls which happened over fourteen hundred years ago, is slightly out of context, and is a foolish question to ask, especially when its origins of keeping slavegirls, which was unobjectionable, at that time, is no longer in existence. May the Almighty Allah, give us knowledge and understanding, of the different times, and places, with their relevencies, and may He help us to realise, that that which was true then, is true now, and may He keep us upon the truth (Amin).M.
