Assalam u Alaikum,
I would like to know can a woman give bayah to a shakyh when she is on her period, not pure? Or is it necessary to be clean and in a state of wudu.
JazakAllah.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is best for a woman to be in a state of wudhu', and for her to be pak, and tahir, because when she does swear allegiance to a shaykh, she will have to recite certain verses from the Qur'an al-karim, which she would not have been able to recite, if she was impure. Furthermore, she has made a pledge with the shaykh to come onto a path which is straight, and what a better way to do this, being in the state of wudhu'. All good acts, including being in the presence of pious people, such as shaykhs, should be done so while in a state of wudhu'. It is not fard, or wajib, since some conditions may not allow the woman to do so, but in the absence of such conditions, it is more excellent to be in that state, and is regarded as being afdhal. May Allah the Almighty help us all to comply as much as we can, to the Beloved Sunnah of our Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. (Amin)Jazak'allah for your question.
