Assalamu-alaikum Can we pray and send Sallato-Salaam without wudu? Once I was in the Mosque and we were listening to the Bayan and then everybody got up to send Salaam, my Wudu broke, but I thought if I go and do wudu now i will miss the salaam and dua. Was i wrong, not to go for wudu?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim Wa’laykum-as-Salaam, A Mosque is a divine place, in which the worship of the Almighty takes place. Because there may be other creation also worshipping, then for both of these reasons one must stay in the state of ablution (wudhu’). If however ones ablution (wudhu’) is made null, then he must go at once and perform his ablution (wudhu’). Care must be taken that when one enters the House of Allah, he is pure, he does not have smelly clothes eg. Socks on, and that he is dressed according to the Islamic way of dress. Also that he prevents himself from breaking wind in Mosque, and does not treat this as a casual matter, but a serious one. The last thing that one wants to have happened, is the disturbance or lack of concentration from other users, who may be trying to worship, and are unable to do so because you have passed wind, or have eaten onions, or garlic, or have smelly clothes on, which may distract the worshippers. May Allah help us to stay in the state of purity at all times.M. Waseem Ashrafi.
