Bismillahir Rahamir Rahim Wa'laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. My dear brother in Islam, Whatever was going to happen, according to the knowledge of Allah the Almighty, and whatever man was going to do, was already known and written by the Almighty Allah. Some had a good destiny written for them and some had a bad destiny written for them by Allah the Almighty. What was written, then, didnt make man incumbent upon doing it, but it is what was written, that made man incumbent upon its performance, whatever he was going to do was known and written by Allah the Almighty. In some persons destiny, was written the evil that he was going to do, because it was known that he was going to do evil, was he going to do any good, then the Almighty would have ordained the good for him. The ordaining of ones deed of performing good or bad, does not neccessarily mean that man had been made incumbent upon the good or bad. Upon the issue of taqdir, it is forbidden to dwelve into its deep stages, and to discuss/debate on it. However it should be understood that, man is not obliged like an idol, that he does not have the option. Rather Allah the Almighty has given man the power or option known as 'ikhtyaar', to which man can perform or not perform, in such a respect that the good/bad has been connected to man. Therefore to assert that one has full control, or one has no power whatsoever, will both lead to misguidance. Wallaho A'lamu biththawaab. M. Waseem Ashrafi.
