Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam The 'Amman' issue, is something which has been made up recently of different sects, and does not coincide with the teachings of our Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. This can be seen from the ahadith of the Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. One such hadith is the hadith relating to the 72 sects, all will be from the fire of hell, except one. There are other ahadith in addition to this. First of all, to have unity with all the groups, whether they are shi'ah, sunni, deobandi, rafdhi, kharji, is something which is going against the princilples of the ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jama'ah. The ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jama'ah clearly distinguishes between such groups, and in some cases, also outlines their misbelief. It not only goes against the beliefs of the ahl-as-Sunnah, but also contravenes the numerous ahadith, including the hadith stated above. Once it has been made final by the Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, that such groups will exist, then no matter how hard mankind tries they will never be able to eradicate that, which has been spoken by the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. To do so, would be to challenge the conscience and the intellect of our Master, the Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam. This in itself, leads to infidelity. As far as 'Amman' is concerned, they are trying to do something which is unachievable, or it may be achievable on the outset, yet may remain a problem in the inset. However, the only advice that I may give, is to keep away from such groups who try and unite all differences having disregard of the advice of not only the scholars, but also the hadith and Qur'an. When the salaf and the khalaf were unable to achieve this, then what purpose does 'Amman' serve, in the year 2007? Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
