The reply to your question is partly answered by you Hasina. It is typical of the heretical sects to criticize and/or be in denial or refute an action or belief and yet if you look into their literature you will find many contradictions and controversies. Hence many of their confused and gullible followers never seem to know exactly what or which doctrines they should or should not adhere to and why.
Fatiha is just one example of which you have had first hand experience....but Al Hamdolillah (Praise be to Almighty Allah) each and every act The Ahl le Sunnat wal ja'maat support and follow is in collaboration of the Holy Qur'an, Hadith and the writings and practise of Great contemporary Aw'liya and Scholars.
Fatiha is the first chapter of the holy Qur'an meaning 'The Opening', there are countless sayings of the blessed Prophet (peace be upon Him) of its virtues, blessings and rewards. It is also an integral and vital part of our daily salaat. It is said the essence of the whole Qur'an is within the Surah Fa'tiha. It is a complete statement starting with the Praise of our Lord, supplicating to Him for help and guidance, and seeking His protection from those who earn His wrath/GO ASTRAY!!
Ask yourself why should any muslim question another for merely reciting a beautiful section of Allah's Kalam for whatever purpose? Surely we should always be thinking and praying for our loved ones. It is a great blessing to be able to pray and recite the Holy Qur'an revealed to Allah's most beloved Prophet A.H., and use it to beseech our Creator to seek His pleasure on us and our loved ones, or as a thanks giving for all His favours upon us.

Allah, Most Glorious and Sublime we Praise, and Infinite Blessings and Peace upon His Beloved and Noble Messenger, Salla Allahu alayhi wa SallamAllah, with His name I begin; The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
The overwhelming Authentic Majority of the Classical and Contemporary Scholars hold that the donating of the reward of the Quran recital to the deceased Muslim(s) does reach him/them. The one who recites also receives the full reward for his recital of the Quran without any reward lessening from the reward donated to the deceased Muslim (s).
In the Hanafi and Hanbali schools a Muslim is entitled to donate the reward of any kind of worship he performs to whomever he wishes from the deceased Muslims. The later Scholars of the Shafiy and Maliki Schools are also inclined towards the validity of donating the reward for any kind of worship whatever to the deceased Muslim (s). Allah, Most Majestic and Glorified, has informed us that Angels ask for forgiveness for believers, as He says in the Noble Quran:And the Angels glorify their Lord with praise and ask forgiveness for those on the earth. (Al-Quran: 42:5)
And Allah, Most Majestic and Glorified, praises the believers who ask for forgiveness for their brethren, by saying: And those who come after them say: Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in faith (Al-Quran: 59:10)
Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, (B194H D256H) and Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj ibn Muslim, al-Naysaburi, (B204H D261H), relate that the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam, sacrificed two rams of predominantly white colour, one for himself and the other for his Ummah; community.
The Hadith in the Sahihayn; Bukhari and Muslim, does not include the words one for himself, however it has been related completely and expounded upon in the Sunan of Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Yazid, al-Qazwini, Ibn Majah, (D273H).
The above Hadith is clear evidence that the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam, offered sacrifice animals and donated the reward to his Ummah, which includes both the living and the deceased, including both those who existed at his blessed time and those who came after.
(Hadrat) Anas, relates that he asked the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam: O Messenger of Allah, (Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam), we give in charity for our deceased, and we perform the Hajj for them, and we supplicate for them. Does this reach them? He (The Messenger, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam) replied, Yes, indeed it reaches them, and they rejoice thereat just as one of you rejoices at the gift of a tray of food. [Narrated by Abu Hafs, al-Kabir al-Akbari, as is mentioned in Fath al-Qadir; 3:143]
Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, (B194H D256H) and Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj ibn Muslim, al-Naysaburi, (B204H D261H), relate that the Beloved Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam, said, Whoever dies with an obligatory fast to perform, his (responsible) family member may fast it on his behalf.
Imam Hafiz al-Hadith, Sulayman bin al-Ashath Abu Daud, al-Sijistani, al-Azdi, (B202 D275), reports that the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam, said, Recite Yaa Sin over your dead.
The Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam, used to supplicate for those he performed the Janazah; funeral Salah over the evidence in all of the above being that supplications (dua) are an act of worship, for the Messenger of Allah, (Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam), said, Supplication is Worship, [Narrated by Imam Hafiz al-Hadith, Sulayman bin al-Ashath Abu Daud, al-Sijistani, al-Azdi, (B202 “D275), in his Sunan]
The above references clearly show that supplications benefit others besides the one who makes them, even when the other does not ask for the supplication to be made for him. It also provides evidence that the deceased Muslim(s) benefit from all types of worship, whether financial donation or physical acts/deeds, since fasting, pilgrimage, supplications, and asking forgiveness are all physical acts of worship, and Allah Most Majestic and Glorified, conveys the benefit of them to the deceased and so it must also be with other acts/deeds too.
You will find Deobandis and Tablighis extremely hypocritical on this issue and many others. When in the circles of the Salafiyyah La Madhhabiyyah Wahhabiyyah (also like to be known as Muhammadiyyah and Ahl al-Hadith, who have profoundly funded and supported them financially due to their double-standards, merely for obtaining Saudi money for their Madrasah's, Darul & 'Ulum's) they will attribute such deeds to 'Baraylawis' and issue contradicting Fatawa's, whereas in reality, they secretly perform the Fatiha and Recital of the Qur'an & donate the reward to the deceased. One can quote many excerpts from their books from the very founders of their School both for and against the Authentic Beliefs & Traditions of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.
Our differences with them are not in the furu'; branches, minor or secondary issues, but on issues of 'Aqidah; belief and its Usul's; Principles. It is best not to engage with such people who's inherited tradition & ill-fate is sheer insolence towards the Beloved Habib, the Final Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam. May Allah Protect us & grant us refuge from such slanders & attacks against our faith & our Beloved Messenger, Mercy to all Mankind, Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam.
And the Knowledge of Allah, Most Glorified & Exalted is Complete and Encompasses all, and Grant Infinite Blessings and Peace upon His Revered & Beloved Messenger, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Sallam.
