Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Imam sahb, could you explain to me who the Qaaderiyya sect are ? I have been having an argument with my brother about these people. I have heard that they beleive different about man sinning and think man is responsible for certain things rather than Allah (towbah).
By the way I am not getting confused with the Qadri silsila of Ghaus-e-Azam (Radi Allahu anhu).

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,All Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam)Jazak'Allah for your question. The Qadariyyah (with one 'a'), or the ones known as the 'Mu'tazillah' or the 'Mu'tazillites' who carry similar beliefs in stating that: 'Allah the Almighty has given men the authority to do good or bad, after their birth, and that He has given them the authority over their own deeds, that according to this authority, and according to thier power men can do good or bad, and it is according to this power that they are given reward or punishment, in the afterlife'.The leader of this group, and the one who implemented it's laws was Wasil Bin 'Ata al Ghazzal who was of the belief that Allah the Almighty was the Just, and the Authority. He also believed that to connect bad, and punishment towards Allah was not permissable, and that nor did Allah the Almighty have the intention of changing the good or bad of His Commands towards His men which they had acted upon, nor was it permissable according to him that Allah the Almighty inflict any punishment upon His men, which they had committed as a result of an act, in accordance to His Command. Therefore man becoming the committer of evil and good. That man is the one who has the authority over faith and misbelief, conformance and non-conformance, and that Allah the Almighty has given this power to man, to do as he wishes. Then this view had been extended by Ibrahim an Nattaam that ; 'Allah has only the power over good' and that: 'Evil and sins, are out of the folds of His authority.' Mu'ammar bin 'Abbad al Muslimi and Hisham Ibn-e-'Amr al Futi , have claimed those people who have the belief of: 'Wal qadri khayri hi wash sharri hi minal lahi' ..... to be misbelievers, and the misguided ones, as they claim that this assertion renders Allah the Almighty to be an oppressor ( zalim). The Mutazilites, such as Jahiz, Ziyat, Ka'bi, Jubna'i, Qadi 'Abd al Jabbar etc. are all of the same view. 'The creator of the deeds of men is not God, but rather man is the creator of his own deeds, and nor does God compel man to do those deeds'These are the belief which the qadariyyah took from the Qur'an al kareem, from those verses which were relevant to the verses of ' taqdir', and supported their views. They then had turned away from those verses of the Qur'an al kareem which presented the wrath, or the Punishment of the Almighty. This the 'jabariyyah' had used as support for thier beliefs, and their views. Afterwards we learned that instead of the ' jabariyyah' using their title as 'Qadariyyah', they instead decided to give themselves the title of 'Adaliyyah'. May Allah the Almighty keep us on the firm belief of the Ahl as-Sunnah wal Jama'ah, and may He prevent us from doubting the beliefs of the Mutazilites, Jabarites, and the ' Adalites. (Amin) Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
