Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa 'saabihi wa SallamIt is the
hadith of the Most Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, that:
'Nahanu ma'ashiral ambiya'i la narithu wa la nurathu ma tarakna fahuwa sadaqatunn'.
'We Prophets are not the heirs of anyone, nor is anyone our heir, whatever we leave behind, is sadaqah'
This hadith of the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam clearly states, that the Prophets do not receive anything from anyone in the form of successorship, nor does anyone hold to be their successor, as it is something which is against the nature of Prophethood.
Had there been this reception of successorship, this would have deemed certain persons to gain rights over other people, even though they would not have been selected for Prophethood, and could have used such a successorship for their own personal whims and desires. The
hadith clearly shows, that in the case of Prophethood, it is not something which is given to people who are not in the realm of Prophethood, but since the doors of Prophethood have now been closed, similarly there is no heir, nor a successor of the Last and Final Messenger, the Beloved of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam.
Therefore whatever the Prophets do leave is a form of
sadaqah, which is given to the poor and the needy, and is deemed their right. In the case of the Muslims at the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, there were many Muslim Companions who did at the time have the bestowal of the wealth of faith (
iman), yet they were very poor in the worldly sense. Some did not even have their own house to sleep in, as some even went without food.
From the above hadith, the Commander of the faithful, Sayyadina Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddiq
Radi Allahu anhu ascertained from it that Hadrat Fatimah
Radi Allahu anha was not legible, for the intestate property. Then Hadrat Sayyadina 'Umar
Radi Allahu anhu had, only, in his time granted a certain amount of wealth to Hadrat 'Ali
Radi Allahu anhu, and Hadrat 'Abbas
Radi Allahu anhu, for the sake of maintenance and preparation. It was their will to have this distributed amongst themselves, but again it was not granted to them. This wealth was not given to Hadrat 'Umar
Radi Allahu anhu, byt the Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam but was made a trustee, to which the wealth was entrusted to him, so that the income from such wealth, could only be spent upon that which the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam used to spend it on.
The Wives of the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam were given out of the wealth of the Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam during the lifetime of the Beloved Messenger, and not at the time of His leaving this world. Then how is it possible, that when once something has been given to them, by the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, that they give it to the state. What was given to them as of right (by being the wife) was their right, just as we have rights to spend upon our wives, in our lives, they were given their rights. And someone to claim that it was
sadaqah for them, and it had been given to them after the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, in the form of
sadaqah is also absurd, as they need to check the facts. They did however receive what was rightfully theirs, in the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam.
In another hadith it is stated that the Prophets only leave behind knowledge in succession to their heirs. The questioner has placed another absurd question, in which he tries to justify the successorship to be legible for the family of the Messenger of Allah
Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, which clearly contravenes the hadith that is stated above. What appears in the Qur'an al kareem as:
'We'wa warithu sulaymana Da'uda'
made Sulayman the successor of Da'ud'
and:
'yarithuni wa yarithu min ale Ya'quba'
The above is referred to as the successorship which is received in Prophethood (
nabuwwah), and in knowledge (
ilm), and not the successorship of wealth (
mal), which the
Shi'ah gentleman would have otherwise suggested.
May Allah the Almighty give us all the tawfiq, to understand the Qur'an al kareem and the Sunnah correctly, and may He guide us in acting upon it, and understanding it thoroughly. (Amin)Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
