Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalam 'Alaykum A person who is not a Muslim but does good all his life, then until he does not embrace Islam and accept the faith of a Muslim, then there is no way that he shall enter paradise. Iman, meaning faith, is a condition for all good deeds. The Qur’an al-Kareem states ‘in kuntum mu’minin’- if you are of the believers. A believer is a person who testifies that there is one God who is worthy of worship, and that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him), is the Final Messenger. Then that is all it takes to buy paradise! In Bukhari Shareef there is a hadith that states ‘mam maata la yushriku billahi shayann dakalal jannah’ whoever dies without associating any partner with Allah, will enter paradise’, then belief in Allah, and not associating any partner to Him may guarantee you paradise, then even if a bad person fulfils the mentioned condition, then he will also go to paradise. The hadith then talks of faith the size of a mustard seed, and faith the size of an atom in ones heart. In another hadith, when it was asked ‘even if one has stolen’, and the reply was ‘even if one has stolen’. But this just shows how Merciful our Lord is, and does not give us the excuse to be bad, because bad, will be dealt with just as good will be dealt with by good. May Allah guide us all to the truth and keep us firm on the straight path. Wa'assalam M W Ashrafi
